Cafe Morso - Jones Bay Wharf

Definition of Saturday for Ju - a day WITHOUT work!

NoNo, it's more exciting - a nice weather and a trip to go Taronga Zoo Sydney! We decided to enjoy a luxury breakfast and coffee at a famous cafe in Sydney my friend recommended - Cafe Morso, before heading to the zoo.

Cafe Morso is located along Jones Bay Wharf, a perfect experience to enjoy a hearty breakfast with magnificent Sydney Harbour view. Cafe Morso has won the best breakfast award in 2009 and 2010 which draw my attention how tasty can a breakfast be!(I barely eat breakfast to be honest haha)

We arrived there around 9am and it was too early to be crowded (well, normally i draw crowd =D). Ordered flat white and mocha while waiting for our luxury breakfast.

Enjoying my Flat White

First fatty order -> "The Cafe Morso Breakfast" - Eggs (poached, fried or scrambled) with toast, bacon, mushrooms, roast tomato, chorizo sausage and tomato relish (see left) YUM-YUM!

I ordered myself a free range of scramble eggs and chorizo sausage with toast. The portion was surprisingly huge for my stomach for a morning meal. The scrambled eggs are thick in layer but it's soft..feels like cheese melting in my mouth. Had to admit that I fell in love with the chorizo sausage and bacon, my favorite big breakfast! I will definitely be back again!!

After we paid the bill, the friendly waitress gave us a little postcard which has a view of the bay- so nice of her! If you wake up in a morning and totally has no idea what to do, you may want to consider enjoying a nice breakfast with a cup of coffee in this simple decorated yet comfortable venue ;)  Remember to bring along your MP4 / Ipod together with your favorite book.

Efendy Modern Turkish Restaurant

Fatty suggested to go for a nice dinner tonight, well it wasn't really a suggestion HaHa! Reservation was made in one of the famous restaurant in Balmain - Efendy Turkish Restaurant! Upon arrival, the standalone bungalow is eye-catching, can't wait to look at the menu in the house!

A warm welcome by the waitress, the decoration of the restaurant is unique, which gives customers a very peaceful and calm feeling, as opposed to those restaurants in the city..Hectic if you know what i mean.

Our entree - Bread with olive oil and dukka and Soup. A great kick-start for hungry people a.k.a The Fatty.

Love all the mezes especially Kadayifli Karides (bottom left). It's a shredded pastry wrapped king prawns with walnut, capsicum and garlic muhammara. They are incredibly good and I finish it ALL by MYSELF =P

Fatty's preference was the Homestyle humus with cumin roasted almonds (right). To my knowledge, Humus is one of the most famous Mediterranean foods. Oh ya, the scallop (can't remember exactly the name) is nice too, one of the must-try mezes in Efendy.

After our mezes, it's time for our mains!

This is my main - Kuzu Tandir. From the description on the menu, this requires 7 hour slow roasted of the Bultarra Saltbush Lamb shoulder, matched with aromatic baldo rice, currant and pine nuts ich pilav and beetroot yoghurt. Sounds a lot? A few bite will explain all! MUST try! Highly recommended by EmoJu.

Fatty's main is Balik - Pan-roasted turbot fillet, creamed potato, olive oil sauteed baby spinach. The fish fillet and the baby spinach are fresh from the sea and farm! *thumb up*

Finally, we are done with our main! We are so full and satisfied with the quality of the food. It's time to spoil our stomach with desserts - Emoju's main dish which prolly the most fattening ones HAHA! I need a taste of the Turkish desserts.

Kazandibi - Caramelised cinnamon and mastic pudding, hazelnut ice cream. Fine dessert.
OK! I am 110% done and overloaded..can't stuff in anymore now. It's a completely new experience dining in Efendy. I would recommend if you like to try something new, this is one of the options you could consider :) Good job Fatty - another wise choice again =)
